Right to Information (Statutory Declaration Under Sec-4(1)(B) of RTI Act 2005)

The Right to Information Act, 2005  has been legislated by the Parliament and has come into power from 15 June, 2005 with an objective is to authorize the Indian citizens to promote transparency and accountability in the working of the Government authority, all  Universities and Colleges established by rules and regulations made by Parliament or by State Government.

 

Scope -

  • Citizens can seek information regarding the activities of the college by submitting a written request with details like Name, address, contact telephone number and particulars of the information sought. The reason for seeking information need not be given.

 

Procedure for RTI -

  • The duly signed request may be addressed to – The Public Information Officer, St. Gonsalo Garcia College of Arts and Commerce, Behind Vasai Cricket Ground, Parnaka, Vasai(W)with the required fees .          Copies of the documents will be charged according to the rates fixed by State Information Commission, Maharashtra.

  • As per the provisions of the Right to Information Act 2005, any information falling in the domain of the college can be obtained from it, if otherwise not restricted as per the provisions of the act. 

 

Functions -

  • To give necessary information as per requests received.

  • To provide transparency to the activities and functioning of the administrative and academic activities of the college  to the stakeholders.

  • To provide timely  information within the time frame stipulated.
